Applications for Servo-Worm ReducersVertical Axis Drives: The Servo-Worm Reducer can be used to drive vertical axis pick and place robots. These machines can pick up small components (i.e. plastic parts in injection molding machines) and remove them from the area. High linear speeds are required to decrease the cycle time and increase the productivity of the machine. Precise positioning and repeatability can be achieve with these axis. Using a high ratio on the reducer which is non-backdrivable (> 19.5:1), allows the vertical axis to hold the load even with a loss of power.
