Planetary Epicyclic Drives - Type SAOverview: The Type SA planetary epicyclic drive from Andantex is the latest generation of Rotomission® technology. This compact differential consists of three elements which are mechanically connected by the sun and planet gears. Combining the motion of the three elements solves many electro-mechanical drive problems. It employs a compound epicyclic system of gearing to provide high torque capacity and a wide range of reduction ratios in a very compact space. The torque capacity of the Type SA is a direct function of the number of planetary gear assemblies used. Consequently, a maximum range of ratios and capacities are provided from a minimum number of basic sizes and components.
