Applications for Planetary Epicyclic Drives

Creation of a Relative Speed While Running (between two elements on one machine):

Creation of a Relative Speed While RunningThe function of a sequential centrifuge for fruit requires the same speed for the screw and the drum to evacuate the juice, and a difference in speed to evacuate the rinds and pulp, without stopping the machine.

In this application, the Planetary Epicyclic Drive permits the realization of a power loop.

In effect, when a relative speed is created (between the screw and drum) the power resisting the speed comes from the braked element and is recovered by the driving element.

Therefore, the main drive motor only furnished the difference of the braking power and the driving power.  The secondary brake motor permits the adjustment of the relative speed and control of the friction torque (divided by the transmission ratios).
