Applications for Planetary Epicyclic Drives

Reducer:

Epicyclic Simple
Torque Arm Sleeve (2) Fixed Case (1) Fixed
K = +2 to +260 K = -1 to -259 p = +0.500 to +0.996
Epicyclic Reducer Epicyclic Reducer Simple Reducer

As an Epicyclic reducer, the method of holding the torque arm sleeve (2) permits:

  • Overload protection by spring reaction arm
  • Stabilized torque peaks by means of a friction torque limiter
  • Possibility to adjust the position of the output shaft (3) by intermittently moving and braking the torque arm sleeve (2)
  • Measurement of the machine torque

Important:  The limitation or control of torques is most efficient when done close to the machine torque requirement.
