Applications for Rack & Pinion DrivesVertical Axis Drives: The Rack & Pinion Drives can be used to drive vertical axis pick and place robots. These machines can pick up small components (i.e. plastic parts in injection molding machines) and remove them from the area. High linear speeds are required to decrease the cycle time and increase the productivity of the machine. Speeds up to six meters per second have been achieved for high-performance machines. Precise positioning and repeatability can be achieve with these axis. Continuous lubrication maintains the lifetime of the drive using a felt gear applicator which mates directly to the pinion.
