Products
for Machine Tool Industry
Andantex USA has several product lines designed to
solve applications in the Machine Tool Industry. A brief description of
these lines is provided below:

Preloaded Rack & Pinion Drive Systems:
DualDRIVE
/ TwinDRIVE
For axis drive applications requiring high accuracy positioning on CNC
machine tools, a simple rack & pinion drive may not provide the accuracy
needed due to the backlash between the rack & pinion. To remove this
backlash, a preloaded rack & pinion drive system is needed. This system
effectively eliminates the backlash between the rack & pinion by using two
pinions one to drive the axis and one to preload the axis to eliminate the
backlash. Eliminating the system backlash preserves accurate axis positioning during
the transition period between acceleration/steady state and deceleration, when
the rack & pinion flank contact and load reverses direction.

Precision Planetary Gearheads
Andantex is pleased to introduce their new line of precision planetary
gearheads, for use in a wide variety of industries, including Aerospace,
Machine Tool, Automation and Robotics. Their robust design is
torsionally stiff, with large diameter output shafts including integral
planet carrier. They utilize case-hardened gears, finish ground to
AGMA 12-14 quality level, to ensure endurance and smooth, quiet power
transmission. Backlash levels down to 1 arc-minute can be provided for
the full rated life of the gearhead. Seven sizes are available, with
torque capacities up to 1,250 lb.ft., and ratios from 3:1 to 10:1 in a
single stage; 16:1 to 100:1 in two stages, and 125:1 to 175:1 in three
stages.

Precision
Rack & Pinion Drives
This complete line of standard helical & straight tooth
racks & pinions is available in nine standard sizes in modules up
to 10.0. This gearing comes in four different qualities (hardened,
unhardened, quenched & tempered, hardened & ground) which
correspond to AGMA quality levels 8 through 12. Typical delivery on
these standard components is 2 -
3 weeks. This is very advantageous for machine builders who require
precise gearing, but can not afford to wait the long lead times
necessary for special gearing. Special design requirements are welcome
as well. Typical applications include high-speed axis drives,
positioning systems, traveling gantries, machining centers, etc.

MSD - Machine Tool Spindle
Drive Gearboxes
These two-speed Machine Tool Spindle Drive gearboxes extend the constant power speed
range of spindle drive motors, providing high output speeds (10,000 rpm) for finishing
aluminum and high torque at low speeds for hogging out steel. Standard ratios are
1:1 and 3.8:1 (reduction ratios are available from 3 to 6:1). RAM-MSD 2-Speed Gearboxes augment the latest spindle drive-motor
technology by providing high torque at low speed. These units
mount in-line between the water-cooled motor and the spindle inside
of the machine tool's ram.

Servo-Worm Reducers
This line of servo-reducers was specifically developed for use with
the latest AC & DC servo motor technology. To reach the high
level of precision that servo systems demand, the worm & wheel
gear designs were improved by increasing their quality levels and
optimizing their tooth profiles for minimum backlash. These
units are available in 5 sizes (center distance 50 mm to 125 mm)
with ratios from 4.75 to 52:1. and output torque capacities to 1,650
lb.ft.

Corbac "Correctable
Backlash" Servo-Reducers
This line of servo-reducers meet all servo-drive requirements:
minimum backlash, low input inertia, high torsional stiffness,
precise repeatability, and reduction ratios from 12:1 to 100:1 in a
compact package. Backlash correction insures that the original
backlash value of the reducer can be maintained for the life of the
unit. These reducers use unique cycloidal kinematics to achieve
their reduction ratios. The units are available in 5 standard sizes
and 2 custom sizes with torque capacities up to 7,400 lb.ft.

Z-Series Spiral-Bevel
Gearboxes
The new Z-Series Precision Spiral-Bevel Gearbox range
was streamlined from the R-Series to
increase the number of common parts, while lowering costs and
reducing lead times. Available in 7 sizes & 6 model types,
they feature high-quality, case-hardened & lapped alloy steel
spiral-bevel gears, cut by the Klingelnberg method. This high
quality level insures low noise, backlash, and transmission error.
These versatile units can be used as both reducers and increasers.
Two shaft, three shaft, forward, neutral, and reverse models are
available with horsepower ratings from 2 hp to 540 hp. Solid
through-shafts and hollow bores are also available.
