Applications for Cycloidal Differentials

Dynamic Register Control:

The DLS cycloidal differential dynamically advances or retards a rotary knife in order to cut different length products without changing the tooling (i.e. knife cylinder circumference).

The cylinder speed matches the linear web speed at the instant the cut begins.  As soon as the cut is complete, a small servo-motor drives the secondary input of the differential to advance or retard the cylinder so that the knife will cut at the correct length.
