Differential Drives

Andantex USA offers several complete lines of Differential Drives, utilizing compound epicyclic, planetary and cycloidal designs to achieve many different power transmission solutions.  A brief description of these lines is provided below; for a detailed explanation of differential drives, please follow this link

Planetary Epicyclic Differentials

Planetary Epicyclic Differentials
The Type SA planetary epicyclic drive is the latest generation of Rotomission® technology. This compact, versatile differential consists of three elements which are mechanically connected by the sun and planet gears.  Combining the motion of the three elements solves many electro-mechanical drive problems.  Applications include reducer/increaser, two or more speeds, phase-shifting, precise speed adjustment, creation of relative speed while running, cyclic synchronization of two speeds, timing movements, and balance speed & torque.

Differential Phase-Shifters

Differential Phase-Shifters
This complete line of Differential Phase Shifters allow precise adjustment of the angular position of the output shaft, relative to the input shaft, while the machine is at rest or in motion. They are available in 6 sizes and 5 model types, with ratios from 1:1 to 3:1. The model types are in-line DLO & DLO.D, right-angle DR, and right-angle clutching or reversing DRD & DRI.  These Differential Phase Shifters are especially effective in phase shifting and register control applications where space is limited and versatility in design is essential. Typical applications include: In-line Web Finishing Equipment, Printing Presses, Labeling Machines, Plastic or Film Web Machinery, Packaging Machines, Textile Machinery, Paper Converting Machinery, Timing or Cutoff Knives.

Narrow-Band Draw Control Differentials

Narrow-Band Draw Control Differentials
The DLA line of differential transmissions provide a narrow band of variable output speed (+/- 0.50 to 10% of input speed) while at the same time insuring that any speed set within this band will hold nearly as well as fixed gearing (i.e. less than +/- 0.005% deviation).  Therefore, the DLA provides the accurate speed setting and precise speed holding required to insure web or strip tension control.

Cycloidal Differentials

Cycloidal Differentials
The differential series 2SRD and DLS consist of a nearly zero-backlash cycloidal gear train.  They provide dynamic motion profiles including rapid acceleration rates, high speed and precise repeatability.  Therefore 2SRD and DLS differential drive systems combine the reliability of mechanics with the precision of servo-electronics.  The differentials can be used for cyclic synchronization of two speeds, creation of a relative speed while running, and dynamic register control.  Applications are typically found in the Converting, Printing and Packaging industries.
